I made it through the first night of the bitter cold in good shape.

Baseball

Baseball spring training opens in a couple weeks.

You wouldn't know that by the weather here.

Winter

This is going to be a long, cold, potentially dangerous week.

Hopefully, it'll be the worst of winter this year.

Pro Bowl

The Pro Bowl is this weekend, but I don't watch it.

It's not good football.

IU Hoop

IU's basketball team is having trouble shooting this season.  Some of the best shots in the world are in Indiana high schools, but IU can't shoot.

More Snow

Another big snow might hit Saturday.

This is why January is my least favorite month.

NFL

The NFL had twp great playoff games Sunday, but they were both marred by bad referee calls at critical points.

Too bad.

GRAVITY

Saturday night, I watched a movie for the first time in a long time-- GRAVITY with Sandra Bullock.

It was unconvincing sci fi.

I think it'll be the Patriots and the Saints in the Super Bowl.

I hope it's the Chiefs and the Rams.

Mom

We are approaching the fifth anniversary of Mom's death.

I think of her every day.

More Snow

I hear we're in for another big snow Saturday.

IU Hoops

IU basketball lost their third straight game last night.

They need to get back on the beam.

Too Bad

Unfortunately, the Colts lost Saturday.

They had a great turnaround season, though.

I predict the Colts will beat the Chiefs tomorrow in a heart stopper, 31-27.

Waiting

I'm still waiting to hear from the literary agent about my novel.

These things take time.

Nigeria

I think one of my regular aides has gone home to Nigeria for a visit.  I also see on the news that Nigeria is experiencing another outbreak of ebola.

Yikes.

Clemson

Clemson whipped Alabama in the national championship football game last night.

They beat Alabama about the same way they beat Notre Dame.

Colts

The Colts won their playoff game Saturday.

They play the Chiefs next.  I think the Colts will win again.

Weather

We're looking at a few mild days ahead.

If we get through January without much cold and snow, we might be in good shape.

IU Hoops

IU basketball gets back on the court tonight against Illinois.

The Hoosiers are really good this season.

Murphy

My brother Jeff and nephew Ben brought Ben's dog over for a visit Monday.

Murphy is a great, beautiful black Lab.
