 The year is half over today.

It's been a struggle so far.

 I began a thousand page biography of U. S. Grant last night.

I got the Kindle for such big books.

Paint

 Painters didn't come Friday.

I think they'll come today.

Modem

 So, my modem died last weekend, maybe murdered by the storms.

I got a new one yesterday.

Again

 My daytime aide company is not covering the dinner shift tonight.

 Another blown shift yesterday.

AC

 I'm still using the temporary AC.

It's annoying.

 I'm in the process of getting a new AC unit.

Hopefully it happens soon.

Dogs

 I watched most of theWestminster Dog Show this weekend.

I love seeing all the dogs.

Bummer

 I got a last email from my literary agent.  He said there's nothing more he can do for me.

At least I got a clean shot at the big time.

Maintenance

 Maintenance came yesterday and fixed my toilet.

Reading

 I read five chapters in my book last night.

More like old times.

 Maintenance hasn't come yet to fix the toilet.

Toilet

 I'm having problems with the toilet in my bathroom.

Hopefully, maintenance will come today.

Apartment

 Somebody tried to get into my apartment yesterday.. It lasted, on and off, for about 15 minutes, starting at about 4:30.

It was no fun.

COVID

 My aides take my temperature every day, and one aide has me wear a mask.

I'm vaccinated, and the pandemic is winding down, so I wonder when we can stop this stuff.

WAR OF THE WORLDS

 I listened to Orson Welles' infamous 1938 WAR OF THE WORLDS radio broadcast recently.

It's hard to understand why so many people thought that was real.

Baseball

 My Bucs pitched two shut outs in a doubleheader this weekend.

Not bad.
