Yodit found another bed bug in my couch last night. She also told me the aide company had had her apartment fumigated earlier this week.
I would've thought the cold had killed all the bugs, but apparently these got established in the warm indoors before the cold really hit.

ReplyDeleteMy son lives in a similar situation (with staff) and his house got the nasty bed bugs also. We had to destroy all the furniture. I feel for you. Did the exterminator come back and do a follow up inspection? Unfortunately bedbugs will appear under any circumstances. I googled how we might keep them from ever happening again and one thing we are trying is to keep scented dryer fabric softer sheets under each cushion because they do not like the smell. Hope it works. They do not like heat either. Can the cushion covers be washed and dried? I would also check the carpet and baseboards around the sofa. Another think we are trying is putting rubbing a

ReplyDeleteTrying putting rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and spray the legs and cracks. Supposily that will kill the bugs also. Unfortunately this bugs are not weather sensitive. I so feel your frustration. One more sighting and I would probably dispose the sofa before they spread further. I wish I had better ideas. I so love reading your blog each week. Thanks for sharing with us.
